Marther Luther King Jr. went to Birmingham, Alabama to speak to thousands of people about segregation. Many celebrities and many people from the other southern starts came to Birmingham to listen and support Marther Luther King Jr. The president at the time was John F. Kennedy and he was friends with MLK Jr. The speech ended up getting freedom around the USA for all black and white people. Everyone followed MLK Jr. on a march  that took place in New York. The march was also to convince people to get the segregation on the bill and to make this day a National Movement. In March the bill was signed for the Civil Rights Act. He was threatened boycotts but they didn't do anything. 8 weeks to pull off this project. Workers worked from 9 am- 11 pm and had weekend meetings. 6 days for 18 hours a day.
